Paul McGeough's article ("The Bush doctrine has been turned on its head", Herald, March22) was insightful and holistic, unlike the general media's gaudily obvious, amnesia-doused and blinkered repetitions of the official line we were cluster-bombed with before the invasion (especially on commercial television).
In reply to Dr Pride (Letters, March22), a far more damaging consequence of abolishing the selective school system would be to deny those more academically able students the chance to reach their full potential.
