BCE consolidated earnings per share are after deducting preferred dividend requirements equivalent to $0.12 per common share for the year ($0.03 in the fourth quarter) compared with $0.14 ($0.03) in 1986.
The 1987 contributions to BCE's consolidated earnings per common share from Bell Canada's operations for the year, and for the last quarter of 1987, were $2.61 and $0.66 respectively, compared with $2.58 and $0.59 in 1986.
