25 Live is a concert tour by British singer / songwriter George Michael, his first in over 15 years. The tour, running for 50 dates, began in Barcelona, Spain on September 23 and was originally to be ended at Wembley Arena in Britain in December, but—due to great feedback from fans—continued into 2007 providing more gigs throughout the Europe. The tour is described as "a celebration of his 25-year career in music", and was accompanied by a Greatest Hits album, released in late 2006. The news of the tour came amid increased media speculation about Michael's personal life, in particular his drug use and sex life. After the success of the autumn leg, new shows were added for summer 2007, in large arenas and stadiums. Popstar Sophie Ellis-Bextor was announced as the supporting act for 6 of the 8 UK shows. She will not open the show at Wembley Stadium as George is to be the first artist ever to play in the new stadium. THE METAL OBSERVER - Review - MOTöRHEAD - 25 & Alive-Live At Brixton Academy (381 words)
Already founded in 1975 (the year, where the author of these lines had been on this planet for meagre two years), the band has gained a worldwide reputation that is unique and is full of immortal classics and countless whiskey bottles (empty, of course).
On October 22 of the year 2000 the band around the inimitable Metal icon (he really deserves this expression!) Lemmy Kilmister attended the legendary Brixton Academy of London to solemnise their 25 year anniversary with a concert, which fittingly sees the light of CD three years later.
I have never been able to see Lemmy live yet, but with this document I get as close to the actual and apparently quite unique experience as I can without standing in the masses myself.
