2YOU FM is a community radio station based in Tamworth, NSW. The station has been broadcasting for over 21 years to the regional area. It is volunteer based, and is a member of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA). The station aims to be a local voice for the Tamworth area, offering access to any member of the community. This role has become more important for 2YOU FM as commercial radio stations are increasingly networked. Community radio is a type of radio service that caters to the interests of a certain area, broadcasting material that is popular to a local audience but is overlooked by more powerful broadcast groups. ... Programming

There is a large proportion of country music played on the station. There are other formats available, including Ethnic and a limited amount of Youth. The majority of presenters are over 50 and this shows clearly in the programs presented. Programming is related purely to the volunteers choice of presentation, with very little control beng imposed by the Board. The John Laws program will be replaced in January, 2007. The replacement program will be a patchwork of volunteer announcers, presenting basically their own shows. There is at this stage no resources for local talkback, phone interviews or Outside Broadcasts.
