The 3rd Congressional District of Kansas is a congressional district in eastern Kansas. It encompasses Wyandotte and Johnson counties, which include the Kansas City metropolitan area, and portions of Douglas County, which include Lawrence. Dennis Moore has represented the district since 1999. Reapportionment and redistricting for 2002 caused the city of Lawrence to be divided in half. The 2nd Congressional District of Kansas contains the western half of Lawrence.
