UPDATE: 2002 AUG 31, 18:36 UT On the evening of 2002 Sep 27 UT, the 37 km diameter asteroid (474) Prudentia will occult a 11.6 mag star in the constellation Sagittarius for observers along a path across northern South Australia and New South Wales.
In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 2.9 mag to 14.4 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 2.5 seconds.

UPDATE: 2002 SEP 10, 01:13 UT On the evening of 2002 Sep 14 UT, the 37 km diameter asteroid (474) Prudentia will occult a 9.1 mag star in the constellation Sagittarius for observers along a path across Australia from Carnarvon in Western Australia to just north of Brisbane in Queensland.
In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 5.1 mag to 14.2 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.4 seconds.
