 | 504 is not about reducing expectations for disabled students, but providing the types of accommodations that will compensate for their disabilities so that §504 students have an equal chance to compete in class. |
| Students who qualify under §504 may not be subjected to a disciplinary change in placement for more than 10 days unless the appropriate §504 committee first determines that the behavior giving rise to the discipline was not linked to the students handicapping condition or to an inappropriate placement. |
| As long as the 504 procedures for evaluation and placement are followed and the group of persons has the required knowledge of the student, the meaning of the evaluation data and the placement options, 504 is satisfied. |
