Thanks to six years of provincial investment, BC now ranks as Canada’s most improved jurisdiction in the competition for health research funding, with an increase in funding from all sources of $577 million between 2000 and 2005.
As BC’s major health research support agency, MSFHR is committed to evaluating the implementation and impact of strategies and programs to strengthen BC’s leadership in health research.
The gains that BC has achieved between 2000 and 2005 are especially significant in the context of a provincial strategy that was launched in 2001 to attract the health best researchers to BC and create the environment where they could excel.
