OCCULTATION BY (706) HIRUNDO - 2004 JUL 27
On 2004 Jul 27 UT, the 29 km diameter asteroid (706) Hirundo will occult a 10.7 mag star in the constellation Scorpius for observers along a path across New Zealand, Australia, SE Asia.
In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 4.3 mag to 15.0 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 3.7 seconds.
