When the '794 was first sent to the Pacific in late 1944, she was equipped specifically for this operation.
On April 1st, 1945, the '794 arrived at northern Hagushi beaches of Okinawa and launched her troops of the 1st Battalion., 4th Marine Regt., 6th Marine Division.
The '794 was part of Task Group 53.3, the Northern Tractor Flotilla, and landed her troops on GREEN BEACH.
