 | C 864 is the largest Steam locomotive owned by the Canterbury Railway Society, who operate the Ferrymead railway, but by no means the largest to reside or run at Ferrymead. |
| For many years it was the main operating locomotive on the Railway, but due to higher running costs C 864 has only run on special days and on a few mainline trips, but the loco cannot be used on Toll Rail tracks again until it is re-tyred. |
| C 864 is now stored awaiting overhaul, which is not expected to begin for some time yet. |
