The 9 x 18 mm caliber was the standard pistol caliber for Eastern-bloc European countries, which still use this caliber today.


9 X 18 caliber uses a larger diameter bullet than other 9mm rounds. "Standard" 9mm is 0.355 inches, however 9 X 18 rounds are loaded with bullets measuring 0.363 inches. As a result, different bullets must be used to load (or reload) 9 X 18 cartridges.
