History The club was formed in 1963 as a result of the merger of two rival clubs, Axilleas and Α.Ε.Τ. The history of these original clubs goes back to the early 1920's. The merger proved to be successful as, within a year, AOT had won promotion to the Greek first division.
Progress AOT competed in the Greek first division from 1964 to 1973, except for one season in 1970-71. It then languished in the 2nd and 3rd divisions for many years, before again winning promotion to the 1st division for one season in 1999 - 2000.
Stadium The Trikala Municipal Stadium has a horse shoe shaped stand with a capacity of 15,000 (seated). It is the home stadium of AOT, but also hosts other events such as concerts.
