After a gap filled in by the A435, the A46 reappears on its original route on the south side of Cheltenham.
This resulted in the original road being downgraded to a mixture of B routes and unclassified roads.

Resurfacing of the A435 from Spernal Lane to Park Lane for a distance of quarter of a mile (700m) will start at 9.30am (09.30) on Monday 6 September and will be completed by 4.00pm (1600) on Monday 13 September.
