Encyclopedia > A511 road

The A511 road is a 21 mile stretch of mainly single-carriageway road which runs northwest from junction 23 of the M1 motorway in Leicestershire, England to join the A50 between Uttoxeter and Derby.

It links the towns of Coalville, Ashby_de_la_Zouch and Burton-upon-Trent. It was originally part of the A50 route, which it becomes from its M1 junction east to Leicester, but it was redesignated when the dual_carriageway Derby bypass section of the A50 was built from junction 24a of the M1 west to the current A50/A511 junction.
