Encyclopedia > AEG C.IV

The AEG C.IV was a two-seat biplane reconnaissance aircraft based on the C.II but featuring a larger wingspan. This was easily the most successful of AEG's World War I B- and C-type reconnaissance aircraft, with some 400 being built and remaining in service right up to the end of the war.

A variant, the C.IV.N was designed specifically as a night bomber, with a Benz Bz.III engine, the type proved successful in this role as well.
