In .hack//G.U. Vol.1//Rebirth, the main character, Haseo, encounters AIDA for the first time while visiting a strange new area. AIDA's true form can only be seen by the Epitaph Users, therefore, Haseo saw the AIDA. He is saved by Kuhn, another Epitaph User.
