Aarhus Gymnastik Forening (AGF or AGF Aarhus ) is one of the most successful and one of the oldest sport clubs in Denmark. AGF participates in a variety of activities in both single- and teamsports. AGF is best known for its football team which has the longest streak in the best division and also holds the record for most number of cup wins. However, the club have strugled with poor results and a string of bad management decisions since its impressive 1995-96 season and was finally relegated to the second best division in 2006. After only one season in that division, however, they secured promotion to the Danish Superliga for the 2007-2008 season.
