It has also been said that he was given the moniker because there were already two "Erics" in the band, and that an "Aaron" would just be too much. El Hefe plays a 1978 Fender Telecaster Guitar that has been fitted with Seymour Duncan pickups through a Jim Dunlop 535Q Crybaby Wah pedal. He uses a Mesa/Boogie mark III amplifier head.
