The Aba River is a river in southern Nigeria. It runs through the town of Aba, Nigeria.It is a continuation of the popular Imo River that runs through Okpulor Umuobo in the Ngwa heartland into the Aba City. It is an exciting recreation spot at Ogbor hill where students from Aba Girls, Comprehensive, Ehere and others convene during the numerous hot seasons. In 1929 Aba was the site of the Women's War, also called the Aba riots. Angry at high taxes imposed by British officials and the low return on their palm kernel crops, the women of the area rose up in mass protests, burning buildings and driving off some of the authorities.
