Abana is a district of the Kastamonu Province, Turkey. It is to the north-east of the province, with a coast to the Black Sea.

It is thought that the name Abana derives from Abonou Teikhes, meaning "Abonou Fortress", which could be in Luwian language spoken ca. 20th century BC in Anatolia, suggesting that the district might have been founded in that period. Abana is the oldest town of Kastamonu, once a part of Paphlagonia, later inhabited by the Danishmends, Seljuk Turks, Candaroglu, and finally Ottomans. It was made a district of the Kastamonu province in 1945.

Abana's coastline is 11 km long, of which 7 km is a natural sand beach, making the district a popular summer resort for the region.

The population is 4.630 (200 census), area 33 km², highest elevation 300 m.
