The movie follows the intergalactic misadventures of Lester and Orville, maintenance men who accidentally launch a rocket which is intended to fly to Mars. Instead however it is redirected and lands in New Orleans at the Mardi Gras. While here they are forced by bank robbers, Mugsy and Harry, to fly to Venus where they find a race of semi-eternal Amazonian aliens who have banished all of the men from their world. They are eventually chased off the planet by Queen Alura the leader of the aliens.
