The Abita Brewing Company is a beer company located in Abita Springs, Louisiana. They first began brewing beer in 1986. The first year the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer and today they brew over 45,000 barrels of beer and 3,000 barrels of root beer. The brewery was located to take advantage of the nearby spring water, the pure artesian water is not altered in any way before the brewing process.
