History
Ace Comics is a comics book series from the Pre-Golden age Era and the Golden-age Era which was published by David McKay Publications. The first issue debuted on April 1937 written by Alex Raymond with Jungle Jim, Blondie, and Felix. It was later on revolutionary with the introduction of Lee Falk's The Phantom in Ace Comics No. 11 in February 17th, 1936 which became one of the first costumed heros to ever be featured in a comic book. This brought an end to the Pre-Golden age Era and lead up to the Golden Age of comics along with the creation of Joe Shuster's and Jerry Siegal's Superman from Action Comics No. 1. The Ace Comics series lasted and continually introduce new characters such as Brick Bradford and the Lone Ranger until the series was canceled with Ace Comics #151 in 1949. David McKay Publications published some of the Ace Comics (1937 series), Blondie Comics, Dick Tracy, Mandrake the Magician (1938) and several others. ...
