Ace Records Ltd was started in 1981 as a separate company from Swift Records Ltd the limited company trading as Chiswick Records. When Chiswick stopped in 1984, Ace continued repressing the better records of Chiswick. Over the years Ace acquired the rights of Fantasy Records, Stax Records, Specialty Records and Vanguard Records. Chiswick Records was a British record company started by Roger Armstrong and Ted Carroll that had a distribution deal with EMI.
