Adam Arkin (born August 19, 1956) is an American television, film, and stage actor. He has appeared in variouse television series such asNorthern Exposure (CBS, 1990-95), where he played the eccentric chef "Adam", and Chicago Hope (CBS, 1994-2000), where he played neurosurgeon Aaron Shutt. Other recent television appearances include The West Wing (1999) (as trauma specialist and psychologist Dr. Stanley Keyworth) and 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter (2002). His film appearences in include Hitch (2005) and Halloween: H20 (1998).
