White Rainbow
White Rainbow is Forkner's solo work. The first White Rainbow record "ZOME" was was recorded in 2003 with members of Landing and released on States Rights Records in late 2005 . The record features a more full band effort, with guitars, keyboards, drums, electronics and some vocals creating a kraut-rock inspired psychedelic drone feel. The second White Rainbow release "BOX" was a 5 CD + 1 DVD boxed-set released by Marriage Records in early 2006. The DVD included collaborations with video artists E*Rock and Alex Hubbard as well as live footage White Rainbow's site-specific audio/video performance/installations. Forkner has focused on the construction of these "Full Spectrum Vibrational Healing Centers" since 2004. The first major actualization of this was as part of the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art's Time Based Arts Festival. These performance/installation/light sculptures invoke both the geodesic/utopian modernism of visionaries like Buckminster Fuller and the all night tape-loop performances of minimalist innovators like Terry Riley. A new album entitled "prism of eternal now" is scheduled for release on the highly esteemed experimental label Kranky in fall of 2007.
