The original lineup of the band was Greg Smith (vocals and bass), Joe Buttigieg (guitar), Mick Sultana (guitar) and Matt Coffey (drums).
Their first album was Pity Of Man, released November 1989. Steve Moore (previously of Enticer) replaced Coffey on drums. Their second album, Kick 'Em Hard, was recorded with producer Bob Daisley. The tapes for the album went missing for over a year, and it was finally released in February 1993, by which time the band had stopped.
As of 2004, guitarists Buttigieg and Sultana have joined the reformed line up of fellow legendary Sydneythrash band Mortal Sin.
Although I have no direct connection with the Brass Band Movement, I have, with my husband, enjoyed brass and military band music for nearly 40 years, and like many people who begin with little knowledge of the history of brass banding, I find it a fascinating and addictive topic.
I chose this topic carefully as I felt the research would be a very valuable resource for all having an interest in the movement.
Thanks also for the great deal of pleasure you have given during the Christmas season and best wishes to you all for a happy and rewarding year of Banding in 2007!
Addictive were an Australian thrash metal band, who formed in 1988.
The original lineup of the band was Greg Smith (vocals and bass), Joe Buttigieg (guitar), Mick Sultana (guitar) and Matt Coffey (drums).
The tapes for the album went missing for over a year, and it was finally released in February 1993, by which time the band had fallen from favour and while they continued to play live infrequently, Addictive finally broke up in 1996.
