An Adequacy Style Troll (AST) is a troll designed to solicit as many outraged responses as possible. The article (usually on something highly controversial) usually starts off sensibly to draw the victim in, then ends with a totally opposite and unexpectedly offensive conclusion. It originated from the site http://adequacy.org, which tended to specialise in this form of trolling. Usually the troll stands back and enjoys their work, however some times they will participate in the ongoing conversations to feed the flames that usually start flying about.
