Justice Joseph Adetunji Adefarasin was born in Ijebu-Ode in Nigeria in 1921. He was a High Court Judge in Nigeria. He was the President of the of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 1977 to 1981. He was the first African to do so and was awarded the Henry Dunant Medal, which is the highest World Red Cross award. He died on March 28, 1989. Located in south-western Nigeria, Ijebu Ode with over 100,000 residents is the second largest city in Ogun State after Abeokuta. ... Red Cross redirects here. ...
