Encyclopedia > Adige River

Adige (Italian; Etsch in German) is a river with its source in the region of South Tyrol / Alto Adige. At approximately 350 km in length it is the second longest river in Italy, after the Po.


The river runs from the Alps to the Adriatic, through the Friule region, and past the towns of Bolzano and Verona.


It is met by the Eisack-Isarco river south of Bozen-Bolzano.
