Adler was a German aircraft manufacturer established by Heinrich Kleyer in Frankfurt_am_Main in 1934 by buying out Gerner. Adler made no original designs, only continuing production of Gerner designs that were included in the acquisition.

An extremely interesting historical side note regarding this machine is that it is apparently identical to the one in the first office of the Nazi Party in the Sterneckerbräu beer hall in München (Munich), Germany in 1920, on which Hitler claimed he typed his first articles for the Nazi Party Völkischer Beobachter newspaper.
