The Administration for the Development of Weapons and the Technological Industry (Hebrew: מינהל למחקר ,פיתוח אמצעי לחימה ותשתית טכנולוגית), abbreviated Maf'at (מפא"ת), is a joint Israeli Ministry of Defense and Defense Forces body, responsible for ensuring the State's ability to develop the material military basis for the IDF. The Administration centralizes and helps to coordinate the cooperation between the various security bodies, including the Ministry of Defense, the IDF, the military industries and development bodies (Israel Military Industries, Israel Aircraft Industries, RAFAEL Armament Development Authority, etc.), and other bodies, such as the Institute for Biological Research and the Space Agency.
