Adrian is a city located in Oldham County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 159.


Geography

Adrian is located at 35°16'28" North, 102°39'59" West (35.274489, _102.666385)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.3 km˛ (0.9 mi˛). 2.3 km˛ (0.9 mi˛) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 159 people, 72 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density is 69.8/km˛ (179.9/mi˛). There are 82 housing units at an average density of 36.0/km˛ (92.8/mi˛). The racial makeup of the city is 82.39% White, 0.00% African American, 1.26% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 16.35% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 21.38% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 72 households out of which 23.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% are married couples living together, 9.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% are non-families. 31.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.21 and the average family size is 2.79.


In the city the population is spread out with 21.4% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 22.0% from 25 to 44, 30.2% from 45 to 64, and 20.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 91.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 86.6 males.


The median income for a household in the city is $27,083, and the median income for a family is $33,750. Males have a median income of $33,333 versus $21,875 for females. The per capita income for the city is $17,966. 24.1% of the population and 13.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 33.3% of those under the age of 18 and 21.7% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
