Adrian Johnson played by Cyrus Farmer is one of the African American COs on the HBO drama Oz. He first appears as one of the several African American COs to work in Emerald City under the management of Martin Querns. He is one of the few COs seen who openly shows favoritism towards the African American inmates throughout the series. After Querns is fired, Johnson works mainly in Unit B, occassionally seen in Em City and the library. Later when a city mayor comes to Oz for assisting the Ku Klux Klan in a 1963 killing, Johnson goes along with Governor Devlin's African American assistant Perry Loftus in causing a cover-up murder of the mayor who blackmails Devlin for a pardon. The cover-up gets complicated to the point that Warden Leo Glynn discovers Johnson's role where he then pays an inmate Lionel Kelsch to murder him.
