He was born on Dec. 19, 1970, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and graduated from Gering High School in 1989 and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in marketing in 1993. He was a former member of the Gering City Council from 1994 to 1998, an alternate delegate in 1996 and delegate to the 2000 and 2004 Republican National Convention. He is a current member of the Scottsbluff County board of Realtors and Calvary Memorial Evangelical Free Church. He currently sits on the Natural Resources and Building Maintenance committees and is the vice chairperson of the Transportation and Telecommunications committee.
