Tras un año de trámites, Aerogal concretó su cambio de domicilio a Guayaquil, motivada –según su presidenta ejecutiva, Gabriela Sommerfeld–, por las exoneraciones de impuestos que el aeropuerto de esa ciudad otorga a las empresas que realizan sus operaciones internacionales desde dichas instalaciones.
Aerogal anunció que habrá horarios ejecutivos y tarifa única en las rutas que abrirá hacia Colombia (Bogotá y Medellín), una vez que la Aeronáutica Civil de ese país otorgó los permisos correspondientes.
