Aeronwy Thomas is known worldwide as an ambassador for her father's work, and is patron of the Dylan Thomas Society. She was born in London, where her parents lived at the time, but was named after the river Aeron in Wales, which her father loved. In 1949, the family moved to the Boathouse, Laugharne, in south-west Wales. In mid-1950, her parents' marriage was on the verge of break-up because of Dylan's infidelity, but they were reconciled a few months later. Dylan died in 1953, and Caitlin re-married in 1957. Since Caitlin's death in 1994, Aeronwy has been the leading figure in the movement to honour the memory of Dylan Thomas.
