History
The airline was established in 1979 and is wholly owned by the Pivcevic family[1]. Its name DAP is the acronym of its creator, Domingo Andrés Pivcevic, a Punta Arenas businessman. The first flight to Antarctica took place on February 12, 1989, and usually these take place on the Southern Hemisphere's summer season, employing the Twin Otter, King Air 100 and (since 2003) the DHC-7 leased from Voyageur Airways of Canada.[citation needed] Also: 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins. ...
