Aerovias DAP (Las Aerolineas de la Patagonia) is an airline based in Punta Arenas, Chile. It operates scheduled and charter services in the southern Patagonia area, and also operates flights on behalf of the state-owned oil company, ENAP. History

The airline was established in 1979 and is wholly owned by the Pivcevic family[1]. Its name DAP is the acronym of its creator, Domingo Andrés Pivcevic, a Punta Arenas businessman. Its first operations were between Punta Arenas, Porvenir, Puerto Natales and Coyhaique, with the first plane being the Twin Otter. The first flight to Antarctica took place on February 12, 1989, and usually these take place on the Southern Hemisphere's summer season, employing the Twin Otter, King Air 100 and (since 2003) the DHC-7 leased from Voyageur Airways of Canada.[citation needed] Also: 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins. ...
