After the separation of PAICV from PAIGC, the Cape Verdean section of JAAC became a separate organization, also called JAAC. Today that organization has been renamed Youth of PAICV (Juventude do PAICV).
JAAC is a member of World Federation of Democratic Youth, although it is no longer active in that organization. It used to be a member of the International Union of Students, but the membership is currently frozen. JAAC has obtained observer status in the International Union of Socialist Youth. Meeting AmilcarCabral and spending several days with him while he was in the states mostly in New York and in Oxford Pennsylvania.
In the days when Cabral was alive; the PAIGC militants seemed clear that the peasants had absorbed Cabral into their own traditions; and the PAIGC for them was Cabral.
It seems to me that the death of Cabral was a plot by more then PIDE and more then we have been told and the history of Rome and its dark shadows and its stance on Cabral was a very negative one for they too had a lot to loose.
