Agatsuma (吾妻町; -machi) is a town located in Agatsuma District, Gunma, Japan.


As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 14,881 and a density of 67.58 persons per kmē. The total area is 220.20 kmē.

On March 27, 2006, the towns of Agatsuma and Azuma from Agatsuma District merged to form the new town of Higashiagatsuma.
The city of Takasaki is scheduled to merge with the town of Haruna from Gunma District on October 1, 2006.
