Sens is a town and commune of France, in the Bourgogne région, in the Yonne département, of which it is a sous-préfecture. Caesar mentions Agedincum in the territory of the Senones several times in his Commentarii de Bello Gallico but the site did not become an administrative centur until after the reorganization of the Empire in 375.
