Agiorgitiko is one of the two widely-grown heat-resistant Greekwine-making grape varieties, the other being Xynomavro. Agiorgitiko is a red variety that has traditionally been grown in the Nemea region of the Peloponnese‐ since ancient times, Greeks like to say. Winemakers in its heartland compare it to Merlot.

Agiorgitiko is the noblest red grape variety in south Greece.
Nemea Reserve Cambas combines the varietal aromas of Agiorgitiko with the characteristic bouquet of barrel ageing.
Agiorgitiko is rich in anthocyanins and soft tannins and, depending on its degree of ripeness and the vinifictaion technique used, may yield a wide spectrum of wines: from young, fresh, very aromatic to complex, full-bodied wines that further develop with aging.
