Agit Prop Records is a record label founded by Chumbawamba. Previously thay had distributed their records and tapes using the Sky and Trees label. As well as releasing their own recordings, the Agit Prop label also put out a number of records by other groups, including the Leeds based jazz/dance big band Bassa Bassa.

Agit-Prop Records was an independent record label founded in 1985 by the members of the then-peace punk band Chumbawamba.
Before starting the label in '85, Chumbawamba had distributed their records and tapes using the Sky and Trees label.
The term "agit prop" originates from Soviet Russia's Department for Agitation and Propaganda.

Their first LP, Pictures Of Starving Children Sell Records (1986) was a scathing and articulate critique of the then current Live Aid concert organised by Bob Geldof, which they argued was primarily a cosmetic spectacle designed to draw attention away from the real political causes of world hunger.
It was also during this period that Chumbawamba gained some notoriety when male vocalist Danbert Nobacon poured a jug of water over the UK Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott at the 1998 Brit Awards.
It was this line-up that recorded the album A Singsong And A Scrap, released late in 2005.
