Sir Agravain or Sir Agravaine was a knight of the Round Table in Arthurian legend. He was the son of King Lot of Orkney and Lothian, and a nephew of King Arthur. His brothers were Gawaine, Gaheris, Gareth, and Mordred. In the Vulgate Cycle, Agravain, not Mordred, is the one to expose the affair of Lancelot and Guinevere. He also participated in the murder of Sir Lamorak. He was killed by Lancelot. For other uses, see Round Table (disambiguation). ...

In modern Arthuriana, his character has only got worse; in "The Once And Future King" by TH White he is made the murderer of his mother Morgause rather than his brother Gaheris, and given a cowardly, drunken, bloodthirsty character (though not an altogether unsympathetic one.) In Arthurian legend, Morgause (also known as Anna-Morgause) is the half-sister of King Arthur who slept with him and produced Mordred, the incestuous heir that would lead to Camelots downfall. ...
