Anthem

By Rolando Acevedo Lorenzo

Con la Cruz, del Señor el Amor;

Aguadilla, San Sebastián, Moca y el pueblo de Rincón;

Link To Puerto Rico.com - Aguada (1172 words)
Aguada was founded in 1510, when Don Cristóbal de Sotomayor, lieutenant of Don Juan Ponce de Leon, and by orders of Don Juan Ponce de Leon, founded the first town on the site of Aguada with the name of Villa de Sotomayor.
Unfortunately, some modern historians have tried to take away the honor of Aguada being the second town of Puerto Rico, alleging that the Villa de Sotomayor only had one year of existence, because in 1511 it was attacked and burned, and all but one of its inhabitants assassinated by the Indians of the region.
The municipality of Aguada is bordered by: the Atlantic Ocean and the municipality of Aguadilla to the north; and the municipalities of Rincón and Añasco to the south, Aguadilla and Moca to the east, and Rincón to the west.
