It is said that in 1903 an earthquake disturbed the artesian spring, which was Aguanga and forced the Indians away, however, that is probably a bit optimistic.
Aguanga, although high desert, and very hot and dry during the summer, is plentiful in water both via the creek that runs through the foot of the mountains and the wells that are plentiful in water flow.
Aguanga is a town with about 2,000 people in it, hidden amoung miles and miles of land, boulders, rock, mountains, valleys and the like.
