Ahmad Hassan Dani (born 1920) is a Pakistaniarchaeologist and linguist, and is considered to be one of the foremost authorities on South Asian archaeology and history. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the Quaid-i-Azam University and the director of Taxila Institute of Asian Civilizations. He was the first Muslim graduate of the Banaras Hindu University. In a press conference on October 26, archaeologistAhmadHasanDani of Islamabad's Quaid-e-Azam University announced that the mummy seemed to be a princess dated circa 600 BC.
The mummy was wrapped in ancient Egyptian style and rested in a gilded wooden coffin with cuneiform carvings inside a stone sarcophagus.
When Pakistani professor AhmadDani, director of the Institute of Asian Civilizations in Islamabad, studied the coffin he realized it was not as old as the body.
