Auguillon (French Aiguillón) is a city in France, in the Lot-et-Garonnedépartement, Agen district, near the two rivers that give name to the département.
History
Attached to the English crown in 1318 was conquered by Du Guesclin in 1370. In 1599 was converted in center of a duchy.

Incorporated to the French crown 1621-1638. Richelieu purchased this dukedom in 1638 and give it to the daugther of René Vignerot and his wife Francoise du Plessis (sister of Richeluieu):
MARIE MADELEINE DE WIGNEROD DU PONT DE COURLAY AIGUILLON, DUCHESSE D' (1604-1675), daughter of Cardinal Richelieu's sister.
In 1625, through her uncle's influence, she was made a lady-in-waiting (dame d'atour) to the queen-mother, and in 1638 was created duchess of Aiguillon.
She did not marry a second time, although Richelieu wished to marry her to a prince - either to the comte de Soissons or to the king's brother.
Armand II, duke of Aiguillon (1750 – 4 May 1800) succeeded his father Emmanuel-Armand de Richelieu, duc d'Aiguillon.
In 1789, as a member of the National Assembly, he became one of the first to ally himself with the Third Estate and to renounce the privileges of the nobility.
He became a general in the Republican Army, but had to flee during the Reign of Terror of 1793–1794.
