Georgian Airways was formed in November 1999 as the result of the merger of two Georgian air companies, Airzena and Air Georgia, with the carrier being named Airzena Georgian Airlines.
Headquartered in Tbilisi, the newly-formed Airzena Georgian Airlines was a private company, one of the largest in Georgia.
Georgian Airways offers regularly scheduled air service from its Tbilisi hub to Amsterdam, Athens, Frankfurt, Kyiv, Moscow, Paris, Prague, Tel Aviv and Vienna.
